INTERNATIONAL SPORTS CHANBARA ASSOCIATION ( ISCA )
Provisions (PDF)
Guidelines for Establishing a New Branch / Membership Information
We welcome new associations and branches to join the International Sports Chanbara Association (ISCA).
Currently, we are engaged in exchanges with more than 70 countries, and we aim to further increase this number in the future.
We will establish associations in various countries. The conditions for establishing a new branch are as follows:
The representative must be qualified as an instructor (Shihan, Shihandai, Instructor A, or Instructor B).
Candidates must take the ISCA examination and obtain Dan, Kyu, and instructor qualifications (Shihan, Shihandai, Instructor A, or Instructor B). After obtaining ISCA instructor certification, they may apply for membership with ISCA. Applications may also be made under Dan or Kyu qualifications.
Official ISCA equipment (air soft swords, ISCA-approved face masks) may then be purchased.
Only official ISCA equipment must be used.
The representative must meet directly with the ISCA President and receive approval.
Each national association may establish branches in administrative districts within the country (e.g., states, prefectures, districts, cities).
The chairperson (president) of each country may organize the national championship and select national team members for the World Championship.
Even among existing national associations, the level of activity varies. Some countries actively participate in the World Championship, while others focus on Dan/Kyu qualification examinations. Unfortunately, there are also associations in countries that do not participate in competitions, do not apply for qualifications, do not purchase equipment, and do not hold national championships. In such cases, Sports Chanbara is not developing. For these countries, we would like to entrust the association to those who are able to actively promote its growth.
We hope that each national association will work in cooperation with governmental administrative agencies, rather than functioning only as personal activities, and will seek membership in national sports associations and Olympic committees.
The Japan Sports Chanbara Association is a member of both the Japan Sports Association and the Japan Recreation Association.
Please inform us of countries where your association is a member of similar organizations.
